On Saturday 6 April I had the pleasure of teaching an introductory weaving workshop at La Trobe Art Institute, as part of the public programs for the touring exhibition Pliable Planes: Expanded Textiles & Fibre Practices.
Using repurposed canvas stretchers participants created their own lap looms with which they learnt how to dress and apply basic weaving techniques to create their own small tapestry to take home with them.
